Ferguslea Sens Soirée Graffiti
The 2013 Ferguslea Sens Soirée, the premier fundraising event of the Sens Foundation, has raised $255,000 in support of the region’s children and youth. Monies raised will support the Sens Foundation and their initiatives with youth mental health and addictions, pediatric healthcare programs and outdoor community rink construction projects.
More than 700 guests along with Senators players, members of the coaching staff and management, attended this year’s event, which was themed Graffiti, at Gatineau’s Hilton Lac-Leamy. The players and their significant others hosted a variety of games while interacting with guests during the cocktail reception. Graffiti artists and entertainment groups Ottawa Urban Arts, DJ Calkuta, DJ J.E.T.S. and the Breadcrumb Crew provided the entertainment
One-of-a-kind auction items were highlighted by an all-inclusive road trip to Florida with the Ottawa Senators, a seven-day vacation to The Bahamas and a meet & greet with former Formula One driver Eddie Irvine, an exclusive concert package to see a show of your choice anywhere in North America and dinner with Senators head coach Paul MacLean and his wife Sharon. Senators public-address announcer Stuntman Stu of Majic 100 served as emcee for the evening, while chef Ken Coderre and his staff presented the fine cuisine.
“My sincerest thanks to the Senators players and coaches, our sponsors, table purchasers, volunteers and guests for coming together in a short period of time to make this year’s Ferguslea Sens Soirée Graffiti such a great event.” said Sens Foundation president Danielle Robinson. “Thanks to their support the Sens Foundation through our programs and initiatives will be able to reach thousands of children and youth across the region.”
“The Ferguslea Sens Soirée is such a terrific event for fans,” said Ferguslea president Dan Greenberg. “Not only does it offer up a truly magical night of entertainment hosted by the Ottawa Senators, but it ensures the children of our region will have support and care when they need it most and access to community resources like skating rinks.”
Since 1992, the Ottawa Senators and the Sens Foundation, through their annual dinner/soirée event, have provided more than $3.25 million to children’s charities in the region. The Senators, the Sens Foundation and the Ottawa Senators Alumni have raised and contributed more than $70 million to the community.
