Roger’s House provides a comprehensive pediatric respite and palliative care program with elements of outreach, residential hospice, pain and symptom management; grief and bereavement counselling, and research. Since opening its doors in May 2006, Roger’s House has provided more than 15,000 days of care and over 2,280 admissions. Children and youth are invited to come to Roger’s House for support, care and assessment by the specialized team of medical professionals. Immediate family can stay in the facility to receive support and education, with the goal of fostering quality of family life.
Roger's House enriches the lives of children, youth and their families facing progressive life-limiting illnesses and was built in memory of Roger Neilson--Hockey Hall of Fame Coach and Member of the Order of Canada.
We provide respite, end-of-life, transition to home support, pain and symptom management and bereavement care in an eight-bed facility on the grounds of CHEO.
Roger's House is about living life to the fullest. The experience of a "home away from home" fosters freedom, security, pleasure, and quality of family life for the children or youth and their families living with a progressive life limiting illness.
