Sens Foundation and Bell Media Ottawa to host tweet-a-thon in support of Tremblant's 24 hours of skiing

OTTAWA - The Sens Foundation, Ottawa Senators and Bell Media Ottawa are inviting their Twitter followers to participate in a 24-hour tweet-a-thon in support of Tremblant’s 24 hours of Skiing on Tuesday, Nov. 13, beginning at 7 a.m. Followers and supporters will also be able to join them at the event’s official launch party at Tommy & Lefebvre (464 Bank St., Ottawa) later that evening.
The goal of the tweet-a-thon is to raise funds and generate awareness in a new and exciting way. Twitter followers will be encouraged to make donations that will ultimately support children and youth in our community. Bell Media Ottawa will be offering everyone supporting the initiative an opportunity to win some terrific prizes. In addition, participants are being asked to engage in conversation using the event’s #24for24 hashtag to help spread the word about how monies from North America’s largest ski fundraiser will impact the lives of local children and youth.

Tremblant’s 24h of Skiing is the ski industry’s biggest fundraising event in North America. The
event consists of 24 hours of skiing and three days of festivities, all for the benefit of children who are in need. The event has had a significant impact in the local community generating close to $2 million over the past six years in support of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, Candlelighters, Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation and Roger’s House.
To mark the halfway point of the tweet-a-thon, Tremblant’s 24h of Skiing, in partnership with the Sens Foundation, will host a launch party on Tuesday evening at Ottawa’s ski headquarters, Tommy & Lefebvre. Event producer Simon St-Arnaud and CTV Ottawa Morning Live personality Lianne Laing will share details of the event, introduce Bell Media Ottawa personalities, ski celebrities and officially kick off the 2012 edition. Tweet-a-thon participants are encouraged to attend the event to make on-site donations and meet the personalities behind the twitter handles.
This initiative consists of 24 hours of community engagement, an evening of fun and excitement, all for the benefit of children in our community. Funds from this year’s event will support organizations such as: the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, Candlelighters, the Ottawa Regional Cancer Survivorship Centre and Roger’s House.
