What is the Scotiabank Walk, Roll & Run for Roger's House?
The Scotiabank Walk, Roll & Run for Roger's House is a non-competitive event for families, friends, neighbours, classmates, organizations and teams to raise money for Roger's House, the charity of choice of the Sens Foundation.

When is the Scotiabank Walk, Roll & Run for Roger's House?
The ScotiabankWalk, Roll & Run for Roger's House will take place at the Scotiabank Place on Sunday, June 16, starting at 9 a.m. Registration opens at 8 a.m.

How can I participate in the Scotiabank Walk, Roll & Run for Roger's House?
You can choose to participate in the ScotiabankWalk, Roll & Run for Roger's House in one of the following ways:

  • By registering online registering online for the tot trot/ 2 km / 5 km route and collecting pledges either online or offline using a pledge form
  • By sponsoring a participant or team

  • By sharing event information with friends, family, neighbours, colleagues, or classmates

What are some of the key dates I need to be aware of?

  • If you would like your offline pledges to be included in your online fundraising totals, please mail or drop off your cash and cheques pledges in advance!
  • Mail to: Walk Roll Run, 1000 Palladium Dr, Kanata, Ontario, K2V 1A5 (prior to June 10)
  • Drop off: 9 a.m to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday at Lower Gate 2, Scotiabank Place.
  • Pre event Check-In , pledge drop off and prize pick up dates!
  • If you've registered online and would like to drop off your completed pledge forms in advance, and pick up the prizes you've earned we have some dates available for you!
  • Please come to Scotiabank Place, 1000 Palladium Drive, Kanata, Wednesday June 13, Thursday, June 13 between the hours of 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, June 15 from 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
  • Just park in the Valet Lot  and enter at the Gate 2 entrance. Our team members will be on hand in the Capital Room located just inside the doors at Gate 2 on your right to help you. If you have any questions, just call our office at 613-599-0323 and we'd be happy to assist.

What is the Sens Foundation?
Founded in 1998, the Sens Foundation utilizes the unique resources of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club to make a positive and lasting difference in the lives of children and youth in the eastern Ontario and western Quebec.
The mission of the Sens Foundation is to leverage and provide both financial and in-kind support to registered charitable organizations whose programs focus on improving the quality of life for children and youth in the areas of education, health, and recreation. Roger's House is the charity of choice of the Sens Foundation.

How do I register?
You can register for the Scotiabank Walk, Roll & Run for Roger's House by clicking here. Online registration is quick, easy, and secure and gives you access to our fully interactive website where you can edit your profile, manage your fundraising, create a personal donation page, solicit friends and family to sponsor you and much more!

How much does it cost to register?
Participation in the event is $20. Children three (3) years and under are free.
Registration fees cover off refreshments prior to the start of the event, event t-shirt, access to the Nordion Family Fun Zone and lunch.

When does online registration close?
Online registration will close Friday, June 14 at 5 p.m.

COLLECTING PLEDGES
Where can I get a pledge form? You can download a pledge form here.

How do I collect pledges?
Register online then use your application to solicit people you know via email. They will receive a link that they can follow to your personal donation page. This is the easiest way for you and us to track your success. Please note that online donations for Walk, Roll & Run will only be possible up to our deadline of Friday, June 15 at 5:00 p.m. Any donations that you receive after this date will need to be provided to our registration team by pledge form on event day.

How do I collect and submit offline pledges?
Collect pledges offline and approach people you know in person by using our pledge form. Be sure to fill in all the required information on the pledge form so that a tax receipt can be issued to your donors.

This year we are only accepting offline donations at our offices for inclusion in your fundraising total.
Your offline pledges can be delivered two ways:

  1. Deliver onsite at the Scotiabank Walk, Roll & Run for Roger's House event in our registration tent anytime between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. or if you would like your offline pledges to be included in your online fundraising totals, please mail or drop off your cash and cheques pledges in advance!
  2. Mail to: Walk Roll Run, 1000 Palladium Dr, Kanata, Ontario, K2V 1A5 (prior to June 12)
  3. Drop off: 9 a.m to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday at Lower Gate 2, Scotiabank Place. Please come to Scotiabank Place, 1000 Palladium Drive, Kanata on Wednesday June 13, Thursday, June 13 between the hours of 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, June 15 from 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

How do I raise $1,000 in 8 days?

  • DAY ONE - Pledge yourself $50.
  • DAY TWO - Ask three of your family members to sponsor you for $50 each.
  • DAY THREE - Ask ten friends to contribute $20 each.
  • DAY FOUR - Ask five co-workers to contribute $20 each.
  • DAY FIVE - Ask five neighbours to donate $20 each.
  • DAY SIX - Ask your company for a $50 contribution.
  • *Note: Some companies match employee donations.
  • DAY SEVEN - Ask 5 companies that your business works with, to sponsor you for $50 each.
  • DAY EIGHT - Ask four businesses that you frequent regularly (i.e. dry cleaning, florist) to sponsor you $25 each.

Where does the money go?

Funds raised by the Scotiabank Walk, Roll & Run go to Roger's House, a comprehensive pediatric respite and palliative care program with elements of outreach, residential hospice, pain and symptom management, grief & bereavement counseling and research.

MAKING A DONATION

What is the minimum donation required to obtain a tax receipt?
The minimum donation required for a charitable tax receipt to be automatically issued is $25. Tax receipts are issued immediately when an online donation is made. Offline donations may take up to 60 days post event to receipt.

Can I make a donation if I am not registered to run?
All donations to the Scotiabank Walk, Roll & Run for Roger's House are gratefully received. Click here for online donations.

EVENT DAY

How can I avoid line-ups on event day?
Register early to avoid lineups. We strongly encourage you to register online. It's fast, easy and secure. Not only will you avoid line ups on run day, you'll have access to fun and easy tools for inviting family and friends to support you the Scotiabank Walk, Roll & Run for Roger's House by joining your team or making a pledge online!
Alternatively, you can fax your registration form to the Sens Foundation at 613-599-1471.

Where can I park on run day?
Parking is free on event day at Scotiabank Place. Stayed tune for more information on the best parking lots.

Are bicycles permitted on the event routes?
For safety reasons, bikes are not allowed on the routes.
