Rogers House - Located on the grounds of Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, Roger's House is a pediatric palliative care hospice that provides a comprehensive pediatric palliative care program with elements of outreach, residential hospice, pain and symptom management, grief and bereavement counselling and research.
Roger's House is the charity of choice for the Sens Foundation. As such, the Sens Foundation has made a commitment to cover an important portion of the annual operating budget for Roger's House and to help build an endowment fund to provide for its future financial stability and growth.

Youth Mental Health & Addictions – Did you know that 1 in 5 youth in our communities will struggle with mental health issues and addictions? Since 2009, the Sens Foundation has pledged $1.5 million of support with charitable organizations focused on meeting the needs of families with children and youth suffering from various forms of mental health illnesses.
You Know Who I Am - Ottawa Senator’s captain Daniel Alfredsson supports the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health’s (ROFFMH) You know Who I Am campaign. The Sens Foundation made a $100,000 donation is support of this initiative in 2009 with funds being direct to ROFFMH’s Early Childhood Identification and Treatment Program for youth with mental health issues.
Do It For Daron (D.I.F.D.) - In November 2010, Daron Richardson, a very talented and bright young lady tragically took her own life. Daron was the daughter of Ottawa Senators assistant coach Luke Richardson. Rather than keeping this tragedy to themselves, the Richardson family decided to raise awareness of teen suicide and depression in hopes of preventing further tragedies like Daron’s occurring. As a result, young people and communities within North America have responded and there are a number of Do It For Daron (D.I.F.D.) activities taking place in an effort to encourage people to speak up, stand up, and make a difference.
Pediatric Cancer – The Sens Foundation is committed to helping children and youth undergoing cancer treatments in our communities. This is accomplished through the support of the following events/initiatives:
24h Tremblant - The Sens Foundation is very proud to be one of four charities supported by Tremblant’s 24h of skiing event with nearly $1.6 million being provided in support of Roger’s House, the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, the Max Keeping Foundation, Project s.t.e.p. and Candlelighters since 2006. The 2011 event was held Dec. 9-11 was a tremendous success raising $1,832,200 hosting 1,800 participants in over 200 teams!!
Hockey Fights Cancer – The Ottawa Senators, in partnership with the Sens Foundation, hosted our fifth annual Hockey Fights Cancer Awareness Night in support of the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation at Scotiabank Place on October 18, 2011 as the Senators took on the Philadelphia Flyers. Hockey Fights Cancer, part of the National Hockey League’s cancer awareness program, is a joint charitable initiative founded in December 1998 by the NHL and NHL Players’ Association. It is supported by players, NHL member clubs, NHL alumni, the NHL Officials’ Association, professional hockey athletic trainers and equipment managers, corporate marketing partners, broadcast partners and fans throughout North America. The goal of Hockey Fights Cancer is to raise money and awareness for national and local organizations involved in cancer care and research. To date, the Hockey Fights Cancer initiative has raised more than $12 million.
