United Way Night

October 24 is United Way Night!

The Ottawa Senators Hockey Club and Sens Foundation are proud supporters of the 2008 United Way Campaign.  United Way volunteers will be on hand to accept donations from fans attending the Oct 24 Senators game versus Anaheim.

The Sens Foundation will match all donations up to $20,000. Join us to celebrate our commitment to community in the “The Promise We Share”.

“The Promise We Share” is the theme for United Way/Centraide Ottawa’s 2008 campaign.

This theme is built around three central ideas:
1. Commitment and Community — the promise we make to ourselves, to each other and to those in our community who need our help. It is the promise to act, contribute, give and share.
2. Optimism — the promise of a brighter future for everyone.
3. Inclusion — we all must share in the possibilities for a brighter future and making this brighter future a reality together.

It is the promise to reduce the barriers that people with disabilities face.
It is the promise to our children that they should start their school day well-fed and ready to learn.
It is the promise to people facing major crises that the community will help them find the chance to recover and live full and productive lives.
It is the promise to new Canadians and immigrants and new Canadians that they will be welcomed to our community and given the opportunity to participate and contribute.
It is the promise to seniors that they will be able to live with dignity and support.
