Cheer for Charity - Event and Game Ticket Donation

Season seat holders, premium-seating clients, and suite holders, don't let your event or game tickets or suites go to waste. Donate them to the Sens Foundation! The Sens Foundation will then send your tickets to United Way/Centraide Ottawa and will provide you with a charitable income tax receipt issued for the value paid for the tickets, prior to taxes.

Who can donate event or game tickets for charitable tax receipts?

How and where do I donate tickets?

In order to participant in his program, a ticket donation form must be completed and received by the Sens Foundation for processing a minimum of five (5) business days in advance of the event or game you cannot attend.

Completed forms can be received in three ways:

  1. Drop off completed and signed form with tickets during regular business hours
    (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.) at:
    Scotiabank Place
    1000 Palladium Drive - GATE 2
    Please mark envelope: ATTENTION: Cheer for Charity Program
  2. Mail completed form with tickets to:
    Ottawa Senators Foundation
    ATTENTION: Cheer for Charity Program
    1000 Palladium Drive - GATE 2
    Kanata, ON K2V 1A5
  3. Complete and sign form and fax it to: 613-599-1471 at least five (5) business days in advance of the event or game you cannot attend. Your tickets will be voided and reissued for distribution to United Way/Centraide Ottawa.

How will the tickets be used?

The Sens Foundation has established a partnership with United Way/Centraide Ottawa to distribute the donated tickets. As event and game tickets become available we will contact this organization. United Way/Centraide Ottawa will distribute these tickets to some of their 200 charitable community partners, 1800 workplace campaigns, and 14,000 volunteers.

Charitable tax receipts and thank you notes

The Ottawa Senators Foundation will issue a charitable tax receipt for the value paid for the tickets, prior to taxes. Charitable tax receipts will be mailed out to the address provided by the donor, within 90 days of receipt of the tickets.

All thank you notes to ticket donors can be forwarded to the United Way/Centraide Ottawa who will forward them to the Sens Foundation for distribution back to our ticket donors.

United Way/Centraide Ottawa’s Gifts in-Kind Program

The Sens Foundation provides tickets to eligible Ottawa-based non-profit organizations through United Way/Centraide Ottawa’s Gifts in-Kind (GIK) program.

To be eligible for tickets from the Sens Foundation through United Way/Centraide Ottawa's GIK program:
• You must be a client registered with a community organization that is part of United Way/Centraide’s GIK program.
• As a registered client, you must notify your community organization that you are interested in receiving tickets from the Sens Foundation through the GIK program.
• Your community organization will notify you directly when the donated tickets have arrived.
