A DAY OF FUN ON THE LINKS TO HELP OTTAWA KIDS WITH AUTISM
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators Foundation is proud to present the 11th Annual Microsoft Golf Classic in support of Autism. This year's event is set for Tuesday, June 17th at the Marshes Golf Club. Over the past 10 years, this event has given back over $300,000 to local autism charities, programming and support services.
10:30am-Noon: Registration and reception of your tournament gift.
10:30am-Noon: Complimentary golf lessons on the range from our friendly tournament CPGA pro.
11:30am-12:15: Complimentary barbecue lunch.
12:30pm: 18 holes of golf on the Robert Trent Jones designed Marshes Golf Club
After golf: Cocktail reception, dinner and ceremonies at the Ironstone Grill, hosted by Dean Brown from Hockey Night in Canada and Sportsnet and Steve Warne, morning host at Sports Radio TSN 1200.
Autism affects many people in our community. Once viewed as a rare disorder, Autism is now recognized as the most common neurological disorder affecting children. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in 110 children is now affected.
Autism can be treated: With early diagnosis and intensive intervention, these children face a much brighter future. There are few types of families that require more support - at all levels - than the family raising a child with autism. You quickly see the need for guidance, education, financial support, respite, counselling, understanding from others and, most importantly, therapy. Our objective is to raise money for autism organizations, all 100% local, which give Ottawa's parents and families somewhere to turn for support.
Here's hoping you can help make the 2014 tournament the most successful yet.
Check out our photos from last year's event! A great day for a great cause!
