Ottawa Senators wives and girlfriends to help build homes with Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa

OTTAWA As part of their collaboration with the Ottawa Senators Foundation (@sensfoundation), Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa (Habitat GO) will welcome wives and girlfriends of the Ottawa Senators to adorn hard hats and tool belts on Thursday, Nov.23, to help build their largest development to date.

These women have chosen to lend a hand on the build site as one more way to connect and give back in their community while helping Habitat GO make a difference in the lives of families in need of affordable housing. They will be helping with the construction of Habitat GO’s build of four townhomes in Orleans, which is Phase 1 of the non-profit’s largest development to date. Known as “Leacross Landing,” the project will include 16 townhomes when completed in 2019.

Since 1993, Habitat GO has partnered with 72 families in the Greater Ottawa area. Habitat GO’s homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With our help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.
