After a summer of working on that wall of empties in your garage, it’s time to take them down and help a good cause. This year, donate them during the Returns for Roger Neilson House, the Beer Store bottle drive that changes lives for local kids and families. Bring your empties to any Ottawa area Beer Store on September 6th, 7th and 8th. In return, you’ll feel like a somebody knowing all the funds raised support some incredible kids and families.

The Beer Store and Roger Neilson House

The Ottawa Senators Foundation empowers children and youth to reach their full potential by investing in incredible social recreation and educational programs that promote both physical and mental wellness. The foundation makes a significant contribution to Roger Neilson House every year for state-of-the-art patient care, updated equipment and programming and maintenance of the facility. Roger Neilson House is one of only a handful of pediatric palliative care facilities available in the province. In partnership with TBS the Returns for Roger Neilson House Bottle Drive has grown from 24 stores in the first year to 74 last year and now an unprecedented 220 stores for the 2013 campaign. The event is now in its 12h year and has raised more than $500,000 that’s over 5 MILLION EMPTIES donated thanks to the incredible support of Beer Store customers, staff, and volunteers.

What is Roger Neilson House?

Roger Neilson House is an eight-bed home that provides comprehensive pediatric respite and palliative care programs, including elements of outreach, research, residential hospice, pain, and symptom management, grief and bereavement counseling. Children and families admitted to this state-of-the-art facility are comforted by the welcoming home-away-from-home atmosphere. Known as the “house that love built”, Roger Neilson House offers is a unique place of refuge and peace where dedicated professionals and volunteers provide the very best in compassionate care and support.
